It looks like we got bit by some false positives on some of our freeware.  We have identified the issue and want to inform users that our freeware does not and has never contained any Trojans.  The issue turned out to be a false positive warning by Avast against the Nullsoft Installer v2.37 when our Windows Shell based extensions were being registered on the system.

If you received the “Trojan” warning, the software may not function correctly after installation.  After we issue the updates to remove the false positive, first make sure you have the latest virus definitions installed for your antivirus software.  Then uninstall, re-download, and install the latest version of the software to enable it to work correctly.

We are currently updating our installers to v2.38 of the Nullsoft Installer which removes the false positives given by Avast.  We will post an update when they have all been updated.

The affected freeware and update status:

  • MuvEnum Address Bar – RESOLVED as of v2.1.0.0
  • IE Open Last Closed Tab – RESOLVED as of v4.1.0.0
  • IE Alias – RESOLVED as of v2.0.5.0
  • Send Path As Link By Email – RESOLVED as of v1.3.0.0

We thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter.
