I have an issue with my main PC running Vista SP2 with the latest MuvAudio and the latest ITunes. I can convert many other formats fine. But when I try to convert an Audible book I get the sound coming out of the speakers and the mp3 is silent.

I uninstalled and reinstalled - still not working

So I uninstalled it from my main pc and put it on a VM in vitualbox running the same ITunes and MuvAudio. It works fine.

My sound card is onboard and the driver is a Realtek High Definition Audio - driver date of 9/19/2007.

This problem is strictly related to the .aa format files.

Can you verify the number of MuvEnum Virtual Cables it shows in the Playback Devices Windows window (right-click speaker icon in taskbar -> Playback devices). It should list up to 29 cables (Line 29 -> MuvEnum Virtual Cable).

Please let me know if you do not see this audio device.

Also, to verify, are you using an English language version of Windows?

Thanks,

I have 29 Virtual Cables showing. I should clarify. I was mistaken when I said the VM I created converted correctly. It did not. All files were silent. This happened on both Vista machines. The physical and the virtual. Could it be a Vista/Audible problem? All other formats I tested work fine.

Yes I am using the English language version of Windows Vista. One was Ultimate and one was Vista Business.

Thanks for the information. I'll setup a test environment with Windows Vista SP2 English to see if I can recreate the issue. I'll let you know what I find.

Thanks,

Hi there,

I have, such a similar issue I thought I'd add my comments.

I have just got the latest MuvAudio, with latest iTunes, Vista Home Premium SP2 32-bit, 1GB memory, AMD 64 X2 2.20 Ghz Processor, Realtek High Definition Audio - driver 26/6/2007.

I too have all 29 cables in the Playback devices window.

I have uninstalled and re-installed to try to fix the problem.

My main interest was Audible files, but any itunes DRM file has the same problem which is that the sound comes out of the speaker and the mp3 files produced are silent. Other formats I've tried work fine.

I think the product looks great and look forward to using it once this problem is fixed. Let me know if I can help in any way.

Kind Regards,

Nigel

We were able to replicate the issue on a test machine and have fixed the issue in MuvAudio v3.0.3.0. Please update to the latest version from within the software or from http://www.muvenum.com/downloads/.
