MuvAudio v2.9.1.0 is now available for download.

Version History:

  • Modified the naming of split tracks to contain 4 numbers, “0001” to “9999” instead of 3, to allow for the case where the number of split tracks for a file exceeded 999.
  • Modified the split track seconds field to store in the settings as the number rather than the index. Please verify your split track setting in the MuvAudio2 options as this fix may have caused it to be one less than you originally had set.
  • Fixed the console displaying the incorrect number of seconds the split track option was set to when the number was greater than 300. Please verify your split track setting in the MuvAudio2 options as this fix may have caused it to be one less than you originally had set.
  • Fixed an issue with the console error details displaying the duration as the filename and the filename as the error in certain cases.
  • Fixed an issue with the console error details erroring when clicking on the filename cell.
  • Fixed an issue with the console error details not storing the albumartist, for various artists, when saving the playlist.
  • Fixed an issue with split track files showing a dialog box stating “Error saving taglibtagfile:…” which would stop the recording process until the dialog box had been dismissed and cause the recorded file to not contain tag information.
  • Fixed an issue when using the option to “overwrite existing file”, which would show a dialog box stating “Error saving taglibtagfile:…” which would stop the recording process until the dialog box had been dismissed and cause the recorded file to not contain tag information.
  • Fixed an issue which caused the numbering scheme for split tracks to add an extra 0 in front of tracks higher than 99 effectively causing them to be played out of order by other audio players.
  • Fixed an issue where the auto update feature would check for updates every time you opened the software every 45th day. It now only checks once every 45th day.

MuvAudio v2.9.0.0 is now available for download.

Version History:

  • Added support for embedding the Album Art into WMA, FLAC, and MP4 formats in addition to the already supported MP3 format.
  • Added support for reading the file metadata and duration for a multitude of files that would normally default to 5 minutes (without them having to be added to your WMP library and having the tag reader plugin installed). This now more accurately reflects the completion time.
  • Added support for conversion from AAC files if appropriate WMP plugin is installed.
  • Added the setting of the AlbumArtist tag to allow for “Various Artists”.
  • Changed the directory naming of the “Artist” selection to use the text of “Various Artists” if the file is part of a compilation (reports as “Various Artists”). This only affects the folder creation, the filename still gets the original artist name. This makes it so all file on a compilation don’t get separate folders in the case where your folder structure uses the “Artist” field.
  • Updated the duration of files to round up to the nearest second so it doesn’t underestimate the completion time.
  • Switched to using TagLib-Sharp (www.taglib-sharp.com) for the retrieving and setting of file tag information.
  • By switching to TagLib-Sharp, the time it takes to add files to the playlist has been decreased.
  • Fixed an issue with changing the MP4 plugin that allows conversion from MP4 and equivalent files not being detected.
  • Fixed activation screen saying you have entered an invalid activation code when trying to paste your registration name instead of activation code.
  • Fixed some miscellaneous issues with the “Add to Playlist” functionality.

MuvAudio v2.8.5.0 is now available for download.

Version History:

  • Changes affecting all versions of Windows:
  • Fixed an issue where the main MuvAudio window would sometimes open under other windows.
  • Fixed an issue where the horizontal scrollbar would should up on the playlist when it was not necessary.
  • Removed MessageBox that was inadvertantly left and shown when you have the ‘overwrite existing file’ option set and it finds a file to overwrite, in v2.8.0.0.
  • Removed successful deletion messagebox when right-clicking on an item in the playlist and choosing the ‘Delete From Computer’ option. It already asks if you want to delete the file so the telling of the actual deletion was redundant.
  • Updated the reliability of the deleting of incomplete files on close.
  • Changes affecting Windows Vista only:
  • Updated the recording time display for each file to more acurately depict the actual file position.
  • Improved overall recording time on Vista by decreasing audio device setup time per track.
  • Fixed an issue regarding the random stopping of the recording process while the progress bar continued to count up to 99% and would then stop. This is the second fix for this type of issue and was due to an issue with Windows Media Player.
  • Fixed an issue where second(s) from the beginning of a file might be cut-off when using certain hardware. If you still experience this, please see http://www.muvaudio.com/faq.php#vmiss
  • Fixed an issue with .XXXXXX files being created when the file was the last file in a session and was skipped due to missing rights.
  • Fixed an issue with the temporary output file (size of less than 1KB) not being deleted when the file was skipped due to missing rights.

MuvAudio v2.8.0.0 is now available for download.

Version History:

  • Changes affecting all versions of Windows:
  • Added the ability to click on the error details when recording finishes. When clicked, it now loads a webpage to the appropriate information for troubleshooting the error.
  • Added the ability to start watch folder mode from the command prompt. (See http://muvaudio.com/watchfoldermode.php for details, or run MuvAudio2 -? for parameter information).
  • Added the “When Output File Exists” option to allow the user to choose to not convert the file, overwrite the existing file, or create a unique filename by adding ‘~#’ at the end if a file with the same output name as a file set to convert already exists.
  • Added support to modify the “Audio Playback Rate” to set the speed at which the audio file is played back at and saved into the output file (useful for audiobooks and lectures). Not all files support faster playback.
  • Updated the add file to playlist code to not allow the user to add the same file more than once in a playlist (it would create duplicates and didn’t make sense to allow it).
  • Updated the “File Skipped Due To Missing License” message to not confuse the user into thinking that the error applied to the MuvAudio2 Registered User License. Also, if you click on this error, it will load a webpage with information on the issue and hoe to resolve it.
  • Fixed System.BadImageFormatException (with extensive testing) due to the original encryption of the exception handler. This should fix the issue where the application would randomly crash on startup and if run again, after the first crash, it would usually open fine.
  • Fixed issue with Reset Soundcard Application Text on close of MuvAudio2 Console when errors have been detected, stating that it needed to be run to finish setup of MuvAudio2 (should only say that on install). It now displays the correct message.
  • Fixed issue with Console sometimes stating that it had completed successfully even though there were errors. It now displays “Recording completed with errors!” in all cases were errors have occurred.
  • Fixed an issue with the <, and > characters being set in the output filenames and on load of playlists as “<“, and “>” instead of the actual character, respectively.
  • Fixed an issue with the output filename information not using “Unknown” when no information for the file tag is found. It sets the values to “Unknown” like the directory output does.
  • Removed MessageBox stating that the soundcard has been set successfully when Reset Soundcard Application is run (it was there to inform the user that it ran, but we have determined it is more of a nuisance).
  • Changes affecting Windows Vista only:
  • Fixed issue with the error details error info box GUI spilling over the side of the groupbox (aesthetic fix).
  • Fixed an issue where users would receive a “Windows – Bad Image” message due to an issue with Windows Media Player. It no longer creates the .xxxxxx files in this case and continues the recording process like normal. (If you still get the following message: “You must restart the machine to continue content processing.”, please see http://www.muvaudio.com/faq.php#yrr).
  • Updated message regarding closing the Console while the soundcard was being set on Vista.
