MuvAudio v3.1.0.0 is now available for download.
This release upgrades MuvAudio 3 to use the .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile which means better performance and better text rendering in addition to a smaller/faster .NET installation. This version has been in the works for awhile and can be released now that the .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile has been released on Windows Update. It also includes fixes to the WMA output settings and other improvements. If you run into any issues running this new version, please let us know.
Version History:
- Modified application to use the .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile; this gives performance, text rendering, and compatiblity improvements in addition to a smaller .NET installation.
- Modified installer to verify at least SP3 if running Windows XP, which is now required for .NET 4, and if not, to inform the user that they need to upgrade.
- Modified MVC check to run after audio control initialized error.
- Modified the remembering of window settings/location to hopefully fix an issue with it crashing MuvAudio on one customers computer.
- Modified the installation of the .NET Framework to be more informative.
- Modified adding files to be faster by not showing them being added to the listbox until they’ve all been loaded.
- Modified required minimum version of Winamp to v5.57 and to upgrade all files appropriately on load.
- Modified default setting from MP3 VBR -V 3 to MP3 VBR -V 2 for better default quality output.
- Added support for determining issue with WMP on german OS.
- Added help to WMA for showing invalid bitrates/samplerates/channels and then added code to auto change the settings in the background when invalid ones are detected rather than not converting the file (with error).
- Removed double-click to open “choose files window” when you already have files to convert in the list (caused window to open when clicking fast on the scroll up or down arrows on scrollbar).
- Removed the higher than 256 kbps wma settings as they are not valid.
- Fixed WMA Pro VBR qualities not saving correctly (it was saving them as the Standard vbr setting instead of the Pro setting).
- Fixed crash when ‘access is denied’ when trying to set the child process processor affinity.
- Fixed reset button shadow being cutoff.
- Fixed size of WMA control being too tall when “Advanced” was expanded.

MuvAudio v3.0.3.0 is now available for download.
This release fixes an issue with converting certain file types on Windows Vista. It also improves on some of the fixes from v3.0.2.0.
Version History:
- Fixed issue with files that were converted using iTunes only having silence and having the file played back through the speakers during conversion on Windows Vista.
- Fixed cases where Windows Media Player was corrupt and MuvAudio wasn’t detecting that it was which could cause conversions to sit at “Initializing”.
- Fixed Windows Media Player and iTunes repair not working correctly on Windows XP.
- Fixed “Watch Folder(s)” crashing when two files with different cases were stored in the history table (removes duplicates and forces case insensitive on future record creation).
- Fixed “File Types” in “Options” re-selecting all previously chosen file types when switching between “audio” and “both audio and the audio of video files”.
- Fixed issue with “Options” -> “Output Files To” -> “Choose the ‘root output folder’” button displaying the “About FolderView.Net” trial dialog (regression) due to a missing license on the new development/build system.
- Modified detection of Windows Media Player needing to be repaired on startup, to inform user if the repair was successful, and to not require a restart of the software if the repair was successful.
- Fixed possible crash when trying to see “if file is in use” when the user didn’t have sufficient rights to access the file.

MuvAudio v3.0.1.2 is now available for download.
This release improves the reliability of conversions, increases the speed of the post conversion tagging and organizing process, plus some additional reported issues. We appreciate all the feedback and bug reports we have received as it helps us continually improve the quality of our products. Enjoy!
Version History:
- Increased speed at which converted files are finalized.
- Signed all components out to 2012 (end of world, right?), including MuvEnum Virtual Cable (will update automatically).
- Modified conversions to error the file when the encoder fails to initialize rather than going through the whole conversion process and then showing the error (a bunch of wasted time and will help troubleshooting efforts).
- Modified temp naming to have proper filetype output extension at the end to help avoid random conversion errors.
- Modified error tooltip to display for 30 seconds so user can read all of it more easily.
- Modified “assessing system rating” to only run randomly 1 out of 10 times when starting conversions.
- Modified “Audio Control could not be initialized” error to show more info and force close the application since allowing usage would cause exceptions (Options dialog throwing basswma.dll not found exception).
- Modified R and R message text to reflect the interference being between another program and Windows and be detected for the German lanuage.
- Fixed crash on startup due to encryption and the running of certain anti-virus programs (Spyware Doctor with Antivirus).
- Fixed cases where WMP control would try to play a file that didn’t have a license from a source that doesn’t display the “Media Rights Acquisition” dialog which would cause the files to never get past initializing or it would cause the whole conversion process to stop.
- Fixed encoder settings not going to default when you click “Restore Defaults” by forcing the options to close and making the user re-open it.
- Fixed cleansing of output path not working in all cases. This fixes the most likely causes with the output file does not exist error! – thanks David
- Fixed empty tooltip showing on “Recommend real-time conversion speed”.
- Fixed iTunes detection failing on certain languages of the OS which would cause certain filetypes to automatically get added to the errored list when loading them.
- Fixed conversion process sitting at x/x files processed when a large number of files threw errors (Media Usage Rights) which would cause all child processes but the first to stay open.
- Fixed “Choose File(s)…” and “Choose Folder(s) to Watch” dialogs not saving their size.
- Fixed the way the Repair (Enable/Install) and the Enable/Disable of the MuvEnum Virtual Cable worked to be more reliable.
- Fixed uninstaller not deleting all directories due to MVC being uninstalled after the directories were attempted to be removed; it was recreating the mvc folder.
- Fixed Expander (circle with arrow) on Status Bar and in Options to display correctly, instead of as a gray square, when using the Windows classic style.
