MuvAudio v2.9.8.0 is now available for download and will be pushed through the automatic update feature in the next few days.

While we’ve been working on our other software, we’ve been keeping track of suggestions, reported bugs, and other random thoughts regarding MuvAudio2 and now we have this great new version to share with the world.  It’s fixes a few of those pesky remaining issues (darn wma files that don’t know how long they really are).  It knows about the newest processors.  It auto-repairs the MuvEnum Virtual Cable!  It slices and dices and can be yours for the low price of…(as I snap back to reality).   Anyway, we hope you get the picture and most important of all, we hope you enjoy it.  Now it’s time to get back to adding the album detail sidebar to MuvUnder Cover: The Album Art Sleuth, among other requested features.

Version History:

  • Fixed an issue where some .wma files that report a length of 1 second are not able to be converted.
  • Fixed an issue when an output subdirectory contained a space at the front causing the converted file not to be saved.
  • Fixed an error in the console if it was closed early in the setup of the conversion sessions.
  • Added better installation detection and auto-repair/install of the MuvEnum Virtual Cable when starting MuvAudio2.
  • Added “Finalizing file…” text to inform user of the status of converted files.
  • Added advanced exception handler used by MuvAudio2 to the console.
  • Added a “Buy Now” button to the main screen and to the conversion completed screen of the console if running the trial version.
  • Added text to the console to make users aware if they were running the trial version.
  • Added ignoring of previously converted files using the watch folder mode when they were converted with the trial version, after registering.
  • Modified trial version to limit conversions to the first 60 seconds of each file to help avoid confusion with files being converted with the audio watermark having the same length as the original (many users requested this one, we’ll see how it turns out compared to the audio watermark method).
  • Modified CPU detection algorithm to take the Intel I7 and Xeon processors into account.
  • Modified default “output paths” and “move to paths” that are set when first installed to make them easier to locate (added “!MuvAudio” at the front of the directories).
  • Modified trial version to not allow the usage of the “delete files upon successful conversion” to avoid accidental deletion of the 60 second limit trial conversions.
  • Modified terminology away from “record” to “convert” for understandability.
  • Modified some wording for understandability.

MuvUnder Cover: The Album Art Sleuth v1.5.2.0 is now available for download.

This version fixes adds a status icon for telling when an album that already has artwork was searched without results as well as fixes a crash we’ve been seeing in exception reports related to removing albums while albums are being added.  Look out below for the rest of the changes in this new version.

Version History:

  • Added a link to “View Version History” to the update window.
  • Modified updating of information for files in iTunes to search by album title and by album artist to avoid missing files that are actually in iTunes; improved speed of updating file information; added iTunes file update information to support logs.
  • Modified update window to set the “Yes” button as the default button.
  • Modified to show a red status icon with tooltip above the album when there are no search results; now can tell when an album that already contains artwork has been searched but did not have any results.
  • Modified noalbumcover-completedwithoutresults image to use red x instead of yellow triangle to match status icon.
  • Modified status icon and search status to update correctly when a firewall is blocking internet access.
  • Modified removal of saved albums to make it faster and provide removal status information.
  • Modified album context menu to disable most of the options while adding, searching, or saving to avoid crashes caused by modifying the album list while other work was being performed that may also be modifying the album list.
  • Removed the ability to remove albums while albums were being added which could cause the program to crash.
  • Fixed only the first file of an album being added when the album files didn’t contain an album artist.
  • Fixed “No supported files found…” message so it doesn’t show when you click “OK” from the “Choose Folder(s)…” window without selecting any folders.
  • Fixed album title and album artist text displays bleeding over the saved album artwork highlight border.
  • Optimized user interface graphics which helped improve scrolling performance.
  • Updated removal of temporary files on version upgrades to only remove the serialized search results and not the images. Binary serialized search results in a strong-named assembly break between versions so they must be deleted between versions; Bug Report on Microsoft Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.aspx?FeedbackID=119402

MuvUnder Cover: The Album Art Sleuth v1.5.1.0 is now available for download.

This version fixes a few issues with v1.5.0.0 which we felt needed to be fixed ASAP.

We hope you enjoy this new release and all the additional fixes and improvements it brings!  We’d like to thank the people who let us remotely connect to their machines to diagnose a couple of very important issues which may have not been resolved without their help.  We thank you for your support.

Version History:

  • Added clearing of album list when changing the existing artwork option from “replace” to “exclude” when files had been added with “replace” (a prompt verifies that you want to do this).
  • Modified non-primary source (google excluded) to not add album artwork that is less than 100 pixels wide which would cause Google Images not to be searched when set, which provides higher resolution artwork.
  • Removed caching of Google Image results as they are very dynamic and caching would inhibit better results appearing at later dates if the user hadn’t cleared their Windows “Temporary” files/folders.
  • Fixed some users not being able to add files/folders due to an invalid “My Music” folder, making the software unusable.
  • Fixed random crashing due to “Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at MuvUnderCover.VirtualWrapPanel.<>c__DisplayClass3.b__2…” caused by watching of “operationposted” in cleanup of virtualized items dispatcher timer.
  • Fixed issue with Google Images always being search when the option to search Google Images when no results from the primary sources existed, even if results from primary sources existed.
  • Fixed “restoring defaults” to not cause the “options dialog” to be shown on the next run of the software.

As always, we welcome your comments and suggestions.
